Milan, 6 October 2026 - For the 2026 holiday season, Fornasetti presents a small anthology of objects, distinct in form yet united by porcelain and by an imaginative world that celebrates the creative gesture. Like words belonging to the same story, each creation draws on the Atelier’s ever-expanding visual language of images, symbols and variations, recombining familiar motifs to generate new narratives.

Every object is the result of meticulous craftsmanship, where exceptional execution and rigorous attention to detail bring the richness of the Fornasetti imagination to life. Decorative motifs enter into dialogue, forming unexpected combinations and opening familiar images to new interpretations.

Tema e Variazioni continues its playful process of metamorphosis: in the Gift variation, the iconic face of Lina Cavalieri is framed by an oversized bow, transforming candles and clocks into presents waiting to be opened. The Pennini and Strumenti da Disegno décors, applied respectively to trays and vases, celebrate the tools and gestures that bring an idea to life, while Oggetti Sparsi, featured on a tray, assembles a poetic inventory of tools, fragments and memories.

FORNASETTI HOME FRAGRANCE

The Fornasetti home fragrance collection is enriched with two new porcelain candles, Pennini and Gift Tema e Variazioni, both enhanced by the iconic Immaginazione fragrance and decorated with motifs drawn from the Atelier’s historic archive.

The Pennini decoration depicts the tools that bring an idea to life, extending across the surface of the candle in a celebration of the creative act that has always been at the heart of Fornasetti’s artistic research. With Gift Tema e Variazioni, Lina Cavalieri’s iconic portrait is given a festive reinterpretation, continuing the playful exploration of the muse that lies at the heart of the Tema e Variazioni series. A familiar image becomes something new once again, demonstrating the Atelier’s enduring fascination with repetition, transformation and surprise.

Made of porcelain and decorated by hand, both candles reflect the meticulous craftsmanship that characterises Fornasetti’s creations. The decorations extend across the surface of each vessel, while golden details at the base enhance its precious character. The wax is also poured by hand using high-quality ingredients, releasing Immaginazione, an elegant fragrance built around woody and aromatic notes that create a sophisticated, timeless atmosphere.

Once the wax has been consumed, the porcelain vessel can continue to inhabit the space as a refined decorative object, extending the life of the creation beyond its original purpose. The variety of decorations also invites the pleasure of collecting, in keeping with Fornasetti’s vision of home fragrance as an extension of its decorative universe, where the olfactory and visual dimensions meet.

Immaginazione opens with lavender, thyme, juniper and geranium, leading into a heart of cedarwood, patchouli and vanilla, before settling into a warm base of amber, oakmoss, tonka bean, oud and sandalwood.

THE FORNASETTI CALENDAR PLATE 2027

The Fornasetti Calendar Plate marks its 60th edition, continuing a tradition that has welcomed each new year with a message of creativity, hope and good fortune.

Its origins date back to the 1940s and the creative partnership between Piero Fornasetti and Gio Ponti. Ponti commissioned the celebrated ‘Annuari’: twelve illustrated plates bound into a small booklet, produced in a very limited edition and presented as Christmas gifts to a select circle of friends and collectors.

In 1968, Piero Fornasetti reinterpreted the concept, transferring the months of the year - together with his distinctive visual universe - onto porcelain. The first Calendar Plate established a tradition that has continued uninterrupted ever since, becoming one of the Atelier’s most sought-after collector’s pieces.

Produced in a limited edition of 850 pieces, the 2027 Calendar Plate is handcrafted in porcelain and gold and brings together two motifs from the Fornasetti visual repertoire, both associated with creativity and good fortune: the inkwell from Strumenti da Disegno and the hand holding a paintbrush.

The inkwell derives from Strumenti da Disegno, a decoration conceived by Piero in the 1950s, where it appears alongside metal nibs, rulers, pencils and set squares in a geometric yet playful composition. The hand holding a paintbrush, meanwhile, has appeared throughout Fornasetti’s work since his self-portraits of 1945. A symbol of craftsmanship, imagination and creative thought, it has evolved to become the Atelier’s official logo.

Balancing function and decoration, memory and imagination, the Calendar Plate becomes a poetic emblem of new beginnings - a blank page waiting to be filled with new ideas, gestures and possibilities.

FORNASETTI PANETTONE BY DAVIDE LONGONI

For the seventh consecutive year, Fornasetti renews its collaboration with artisan baker Davide Longoni, bringing together artistic vision and the craftsmanship of traditional Italian panettone making.

For this holiday season, the Fornasetti Panettone by Davide Longoni is presented in a new cylindrical embossed-paper box inspired by Oggetti con nastro, one of the Atelier’s historic archival motifs.

Set against a trompe-l’œil green wood background, a long red ribbon gathers fragments from the Fornasetti universe: drawing tools, letters, nibs, flowers, butterflies and other iconic details unfold like the objects collected in an artist’s studio. More than a decorative motif, the composition becomes a tribute to the creative act, transforming the box itself into a gift before it is even opened.

Produced in a limited, numbered edition of 1,500 pieces, the packaging becomes a collectible object in its own right.

Inside, the quintessential Italian Christmas cake is made according to traditional artisanal methods and a slow production process, using carefully selected ingredients. Stone-ground flour and natural sourdough starter form the basis of the recipe, while sultanas, candied orange and candied bergamot peel celebrate the classic flavours of Milanese panettone.

This year, the recipe is enhanced by the aromatic notes of dried fruit, dates and caramel brought by the addition of Marsala, the distinctive ingredient chosen by Davide Longoni as an expression of his spirit of experimentation and his dialogue with the Fornasetti aesthetic.
